Clayfield is an inner-northern suburb of Brisbane, located approximately 5 km from the CBD. Clayfield is bordered to the north by Hendra and Wavell Heights, to the south by Hamilton and Ascot to the East by Eagle Farm and to the west by Albion and Bowen Hills. The suburb was served by an electric tramline which ran along Sandgate Road until its closure on 13 April 1969. It is now served by bus and train services from the nearby Clayfield railway station and Eagle Junction railway station. Clayfield is probably most distinguished from other suburbs in Brisbane because of the classic 'New England' feel and appearance as well as traditional Anglo-Saxon culture. Along the capital road (Alexandra Road) an aesthetic canopy effect is produced by the Pontietta and Oak trees.
